About the Role
Carbon Direct is seeking contractors to assist with scientific project reviews. As a Scientific Project Reviewer, you will evaluate carbon dioxide removal and reduction technologies through a structured review process. This opportunity is ideal for advanced graduate students (Masters or PhD level) in climate science fields who are interested in gaining work experience.
Responsibilities
- Review project proposals based on six quality criteria using a standardized template.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of carbon dioxide removal and reduction technologies.
- Work under the guidance of a senior scientist to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Deliver high-quality, structured reports within the agreed timelines.
Qualifications
- Current or recent graduate student (Masters or PhD) in climate science-related fields such as:
- Forestry
- Engineering
- Chemistry
- Environmental Science
- Ecology
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Ability to write structured reports following a given template.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
Payment Structure
- Compensation is based on a deliverable-based payment schedule.
- Payment varies depending on the length and complexity of each assigned review.
