About the Role
Designation: Research Analyst/Programme Associate
Focus Area: Energy Transitions
Reporting to: Programme Associate/Programme Lead
Location: New Delhi, India
CEEW aims to support India's transition to a decarbonised electricity sector while ensuring reliable and affordable energy for all. The selected candidate will contribute to developing a low-impact siting tool for renewable energy (RE) infrastructure, ensuring minimal social, biodiversity, and climate risks.
Key Responsibilities
Research Duties:
- Develop and implement a spatial analysis tool for low-impact RE siting.
- Conduct literature reviews and engage with stakeholders.
- Analyse data using GIS tools, programming languages, and statistical models.
- Track policy, regulatory, and market changes in the RE sector.
- Write reports, research memos, and explainers for dissemination.
- Develop outreach strategies and assess research impact.
- Travel to priority states for research and stakeholder engagement.
Programme Assistance:
- Support programme strategy development and implementation.
- Build and maintain relationships with government, industry, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing funding applications for research and general donor support.
Expected Outcomes (First Year)
For Research Analyst:
- Contribute to building the spatial analysis tool.
- Take up at least one institutional responsibility or initiative.
- Build and maintain strategic networks with key government ministries and regulatory bodies.
For Programme Associate:
- Lead the design and implementation of the spatial analysis tool in a selected state.
- Establish relationships with at least one central ministry on the thematic area.
- Take up at least one institutional responsibility or initiative.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Requirements:
- Master’s degree in statistics, computer science, or a related field.
Work Experience:
- 0-1 year for Research Analyst.
- 4-5 years for Programme Associate.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis, GIS tools, and programming languages.
- Familiarity with ESG frameworks (BRSR, Equator Principles, IFC Principles).
- Experience in trend analysis and forecasting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Personal Attributes:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
- Willingness to travel frequently for stakeholder engagement.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a team player.
