Forest Restoration: A Case Study from Central India

The Ecological Restoration Alliance invites you to an insightful webinar on Forest Restoration: A Case Study from Central India. Join us as Kedar Gore shares his team’s journey and key learnings from restoring over 2,500 hectares of forests in Central India.

About the Webinar

Between 2017-2024, The Corbett Foundation (TCF) undertook the ecological restoration of approximately 2,500 hectares across Satpura Tiger Reserve, Kanha Tiger Reserve, and North Shahdol Forest Division (Bandhavgarh-Sanjay Dubri Corridor, Madhya Pradesh). These projects, implemented in partnership with the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department, had to balance the ecological restoration of forest areas with the grazing needs of nearby village communities.

Today, several wild species, including tigers, have been recorded in these restored areas, while villagers harvest grass for stall-feeding their livestock.

In this webinar, Kedar Gore will share insights into TCF’s journey, the challenges they faced, and the best practices they developed while working closely with both local communities and the Forest Department.
